Baba Yaga is one of the first songs I ever wrote but it took nearly two decades to record and release it. Performed extensively with an earlier musical incarnation (The Fenbi International Superstars) I now include it within folkefire sets whenever the mood strikes. Slava Ukraini!

I started folkefire with a mission: to earn a million dollars performing mediocre music by taking my gig money and investing it into a broad-based index fund in my ROTH IRA, maxing out my contribution each calendar year. On Monday, St. Paddy’s Day, I performed a gig with a couple of friends. Our set included traditional Irish songs, originals, and folk classics from Billy Bragg, Bruce Springsteen and others. After the gig we were paid in cash, thanked the establishment, and I walked out of the venue to deposit the earnings into my ROTH IRA…
